Performance Party!

Each first Saturday night of the year, Jump-Start hosts an eclectic night of performances. As we approach 2025, We are planning the biggest party yet!

We feature a wide array of performances: from actos to drag to comedy, music, and dance. Contact us if you’d like to get involved in our next Performance Party in 2025!

8×8: Cabaret du Jump

Several Summer seasons ago, Jump-Start has hosted a community slate of performers for 8×8. Cabaret du Jump. What was then new programming is now a decades-long Jump-Start tradition. The cabaret started off as a platform for Jump-Start company members to experiment with performance ideas at artistic retreats. In 2014, Jump-Start decided to invite community artists and audiences to join the company for a Cabaret du Jump presented on an 8’ x 8’ stage. Over the years, company members Chuck Squier and Sheila Currie collaborated on the creation of the architectural cube, which now serves as the playing area for the show. The cabaret is a varied program of 8 performances lasting no longer than 8 minutes. It is experimental in nature and useful to help artists and community members try out new work.

INKubator Projects

If productions are more your style, community artists or groups with original stage material are supported by Jump-Start through our INKubator project. Each year, Jump-Start company members nominate community artists to participate. One individual or group is selected each season to produce an original performance at Jump-Start. You get a small budget, PR and tech support, plus our love! If you’d like to be considered for INKubator in 2025, please reach out to us!
